• Resolvent bounds for jump generators

Kondratiev, Yuri; Molchanov, Stanislav; Piatnitski, Andrey; Zhizhina, Elena (Journal article; Peer reviewed, 2016-12-02)
The paper deals with jump generators with a convolution kernel. Assuming that the kernel decays either exponentially or polynomially, we prove a number of lower and upper bounds for the resolvent of such operators. In particular we focus on sharp estimates of the resolvent kernel for small values of the spectral parameter. We consider two applications of these results. First we obtain pointwise ...
• The Untouchable Nature of the ‘EU Seal Regime’— Is the European Union Liable for the Damages Suffered by the Canadian Inuit Due to the Violation of WTO Law in EC—Seal Products?

Hennig, Martin (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2018-03-12)
In this article, the author assesses whether Canadian Inuit sealers, who have suffered economic damage in the wake of the introduction of the European Union (EU) ban on seal products, can bring an action for damages against the EU before the European Court of Justice. The author reviews why the EU ban on seal hunting violates World Trade Office (WTO) law and discusses if, and why, Canadian Inuit ...
• Isolated perfused working hearts provide valuable additional information during phenotypic assessment of the diabetic mouse heart

Pedersen, Tina Myhre; Boardman, Neoma; Hafstad, Anne Dragøy; Aasum, Ellen (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2018-10-01)
Although murine models for studying the development of cardiac dysfunction in diabetes mellitus are well established, their reported cardiac phenotypes vary. These reported divergences may, in addition to the severity of different models, also be linked to the methods used for cardiac functional assessment. In the present study, we examined the functional changes using conventional transthoracic ...
• Mesothelioma in Sweden: Dose–Response Analysis for Exposure to 29 Potential Occupational Carcinogenic Agents

Plato, Nils; Martinsen, Jan Ivar; Kjærheim, Kristina; Kyyrönen, Pentti; Sparen, Pär; Weiderpass, Elisabete (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2018-04-21)
Background: There is little information on the doseeresponse relationship between exposure to occupational carcinogenic agents and mesothelioma. This study aimed to investigate this association as well as the existence of agents other than asbestos that might cause mesothelioma.

Methods: The Swedish component of the Nordic Occupational Cancer (NOCCA) study consists of 6.78 ...
• “Oh oobe doo, I wanna be like you” associations between physical activity of preschool staff and preschool children

Fossdal, Tom Stian; Kippe, Karin Oddbjørg; Handegård, Bjørn Helge; Lagestad, Pål Arild (Journal article; Tidsskriftartikkel; Peer reviewed, 2018-11-29)
Objective: Physical activity contributes to prevent serious diseases and ailments, and previous research indicates that lifestyle habits are likely to track from early childhood to adulthood. 90% of Norwegian children aged 1–5 are enrolled in preschools, and preschool staff can play an important role in children’s activity levels. This study’s aim was to identify whether any associations ...
